Weekly Update September 17, 2018 9/17 D Day We have music and we are wearing Red, White, and Blue to celebrate Constitution Day . No Homework.   7:15 - 8:00 p.m. Back to School Night 9/18 E Day We have music and the Scholastic Book Order is Due . Homework: Read and tell someone how you can count by 5’s in ascending and descending order from different numbers. 9/19 F Day We have music.       Late Start Morning. Thurs. 9/13 Update

Thursday Update Celebration :  We filled the bead jar again!!  We will be having a celebration tomorrow.  The children voted to have an outdoor toy day.  They may bring any outdoor toy that you say is ok.  I have asked that if they bring a bicycle they also bring a helmet.  Please email me at cborah@sjschools.org if you have any questions.  Thank you Homework tonight :  We did not make it as far as I wished in the computer lab yesterday.  Tonight's homework says to have your child how to get to itslearning.  However since we did not learn this yesterday this is no longer the homework.  Tonight they should read and write in their log.

Meet Our Student Teacher

September 6, 2018 Dear Parents or Guardians, My name is Michelle Krieger and I am a teacher candidate from WMU. I am so excited to get to know your children this coming semester! I am a mother of three boys that range in ages from 13 to 25. Over the years I’ve enjoyed volunteering with many activities that my children were involved such as Boy Scouts, baseball, basketball, football, golf, and cross country. I have also worked as a children and youth minister, teaching everything from Mommy and Me classes to teenagers' youth group. One thing that was always challenging for me, besides being the only female in my home, was that the activities ended but I wanted to continue to work with the children, which was why I decided to make a career change to teaching.   I’m so excited to be involved in a second-grade room. I am so excited for the 2018-2019 school year. It is going to be great! Communication:  I am looking forward to sharing our classroom news and activities with you using our blog and itslearning this year. I will have more about this at Back to School Night but until then this is the place to check for information. Nightly Reading:  Students are expected to read every night.  This week, students are expected to read for 10 minutes each night.   If you have been reading throughout the summer and your child's reading stamina is greater than 10 minutes, please continue your routine.  Our goal for 2nd grade is for all children to read independently for a minimum of 20 minutes nightly.
