Meet Our Student Teacher

September 6, 2018

Dear Parents or Guardians,
My name is Michelle Krieger and I am a teacher candidate from WMU. I am so excited to get to know your children this coming semester! I am a mother of three boys that range in ages from 13 to 25. Over the years I’ve enjoyed volunteering with many activities that my children were involved such as Boy Scouts, baseball, basketball, football, golf, and cross country. I have also worked as a children and youth minister, teaching everything from Mommy and Me classes to teenagers' youth group. One thing that was always challenging for me, besides being the only female in my home, was that the activities ended but I wanted to continue to work with the children, which was why I decided to make a career change to teaching.
I’m so excited to be involved in a second-grade room. Besides being at a great age, the students are reading and writing more, which I’m very enthusiastic about. I’m an Early Education major, with an Elementary Language Arts minor, and have begun taking classes for my master’s program, which is in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), so I can teach students learning English.  I write in my free time and hope to be a published children’s author one day.
I'm fortunate this semester to witness the exceptional teaching practices I’ve heard that Lincoln has. I’m very interested in the best teaching practices and methods to create a classroom environment that is supportive to all your students' needs. I look forward to getting to know your children and their teacher and I’m sure I will be greatly enriched from this opportunity.

Sincerely,

Michelle Krieger
