Week of Jan. 7, 2019

1/7	F Day	We have music.     Homework: Read your word list and practice for Math Center
1/8	A Day	We have art, library, and computer lab.     Homework:  Complete your word sheet.
1/9	B Day	We have gym.     Homework: Complete math sheet.
1/10	C Day	We have gym and art.      Homework: Read on RAZ.
1/11	D Day	We have music.     We do not have homework.  Remember to read this weekend.

Thank you!  Our class holiday parties were a huge success.  Thank you to all the parents who donated supplies and a special thank you to those parents who helped out the day of the party.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Word Work: Our class will be learning the -r controlled /air/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like chair, bear, square, and cherry. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

Mystery Science:  Our second grade classes will be studying plant adaptations in science.  Students will learn that plants have needs and learn how plants meet their needs.  We are excited to begin this new unit using Mystery Science.   

Book Order:  The book order forms will come home next week.  They will be due on Wednesday, January 23rd.
