Word Work: Our class will be reviewing previous syllable patterns this week. Students would
benefit from visiting Spelling City and reading word lists 1 - 12, discussing the meaning of the
words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students
to access this week.
Calling All Colors: Our class will be going to the Boys and Girls Club-Fetting Youth Center in Benton Harbor for Calling All Colors on Tuesday morning. If your child was here in first grade you know of this wonderful program that brings St. Joseph and Benton Harbor school children together for a series of multicultural educational experiences. We are looking forward to meeting new friends.

Just a Reminder: This time of year, elementary students sometimes need a reminder that we are
friends with everyone. We do not complicate relationships by calling friends, “boyfriends” or
“girlfriends”. We would appreciate your taking a few minutes to discuss how elementary school
is a special time to be friends with everyone and students are too young to worry about having
boyfriends or girlfriends. Thank you so much.
