Creating Pumpkin Characters: Thank you to everyone who sent in their dollar donation for the pumpkins. I would also like to thank the parents that donated supplies to make these book characters come to life. Finally a big thank you to Mrs. Drewno, Mrs. Grossman, Mrs. Kirshenbaum, and Mrs Spitale for braving the noise and chaos so that they could help the children's ideas become a reality. If you go to our page on itslearning, you can see a video and catch a glimpse of your child and their pumpkin. The pumpkins will come home on Tuesday.

Stuffed A Truck: Stuff A Truck begins this week.  If possible, please donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, cereal, rice, and boxed foods. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are also needed.
Our goal is to fill the box in our classroom with as many items as we can by Nov. 3rd.
Halloween Costumes: This year we will be wearing our costumes through the entire day.  Please be mindful of the complexity of the costume when sending in your child’s costume.  
Word Work: Our class will be learning about the long a digraph syllable pattern this week. Long a digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams: ai, ay, ea, ey, ei, eigh.   The following words are examples of this pattern: brain, clay, break, hey, weight. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. Bead Jar Celebration on Friday.

They did it again!!!   I thought for sure this would be a week that the bead jar would not make it to the top and then we went to library.  The class did an amazing job in library and then another incredible job in the computer lab.  I feel like a broken record when I say I have never had a class work so well as a team.  Tomorrow they may bring a stuff animal friend.  We are having a special gum time while we work and then will have a class kickball game.  It will be a fun Friday.  As always, email me if you have any questions.
