Book Order: I am so sorry for the terrible delay on the book order. I anticipated it would be here by last Wednesday as it usually takes a week. When it wasn't here then I called Scholastic and they told me that a number of items were out of stock and so the shipment was delayed. The arrival date is Oct. 2 and I will get the books to the students as soon as it arrives. Again I am very sorry. I predict this problem is due to the first month of school and I don't anticipate this happening in the future. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Laps for Lincoln:  Thank you for your generous donations thus far during our fundraising campaign.  We have three more collection dates before the big night. Please plan to join the celebration on Friday, October 5th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. to walk the St. Joseph High School track and celebrate our new school year.
Lexia Core 5: Our second graders will begin Lexia Core 5 soon.  Please remember students are welcome to use this program at home but the work should be done totally by the student.  No adult support should be given. We appreciate your encouraging your child to spend some time at home using this program.
Social Studies:  Our second graders are busy learning about communities.  Please ask your child what he/she knows about where they live, work, and play.
Science:   We have begun our Mystery Science Unit, Work on Water.  The children are enjoying the videos and responding to the concepts presented in their interactive science journals.

Bead Jar Celebration on Friday.

They did it again!!!   I thought for sure this would be a week that the bead jar would not make it to the top and then we went to library.  The class did an amazing job in library and then another incredible job in the computer lab.  I feel like a broken record when I say I have never had a class work so well as a team.  Tomorrow they may bring a stuff animal friend.  We are having a special gum time while we work and then will have a class kickball game.  It will be a fun Friday.  As always, email me if you have any questions.
