Weekly Update October 29, 2018 10/29 D Day We have music. Homework: Do math fact practice sheet and read/ explain the syllable pattern on your word list. 10/30 E Day We have music and a visit from Mrs. VanHekken Homework: Complete the word work worksheet. 10/31 F Day We will not be going to music.    Late Start Morning. Weekly Update October 22, 2018 10/22 E Day We have music and a visit from Mrs. VanHekken. Pumpkin Character Creation Day 10:45 - 11:45 a.m.              Homework: We do not have homework. Word Work: Our class will be learning about the open syllable pattern this week.  Open syllables end with a vowel; the vowel usually has a long sound.  The following words are examples of this pattern: be, me, why, try, lazy, silent, spoken, pilot, and spoken. Bead Jar Celebration on 10/19/18

The students filled the bead jar.  Tomorrow is popcorn Friday so we are going to add a little fun to it.  First they may bring a clear liquid like Capri Sun or Sprite.  They may also wear their pajamas and bring one soft thing like a blanket, pillow, or stuffed animal.  We are going to take a few minutes to watch The Mouse and the Motorcycle.  This is a read aloud book we are beginning tomorrow.  Typically we read the book and then watch the movie so we can compare /contrast the two pieces.  Due to timing we are going to watch the movie and then compare/contrast the book as we read through it.  Please email me with any questions or concerns.  Thank you!

See you at 8:25.   Homework: Math Concept practice 10/11 D Day We have music and a half day.  Dismissal is at 12:05 Homework: Read.   10/12 E Day We have music and a half day.  Dismissal is 12:05 Homework: We do not have homework. Math Center Practice Tests:   On Monday, your child is bringing home a math center practice sheet.  Please set a timer to 2 minutes and have them complete as many facts as they can.  When the timer goes off, have them draw a line after the last problem they finished and complete the rest of the sheet.   Weekly Word List:  Your child will bring home a word list each Monday.  Please go through the list with them

Bead Jar Celebration-Toy Day Tomorrow

The students filled the bead jar so they voted to have a toy day tomorrow.  I let them have an electronics version only 1 time a month so tomorrow's toys can have batteries.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Thank you !
